The Argument Room

The Argument Room is an online debating forum that allows individuals throughout the world to hold conversations with individual artists, practitioners and academics. It has a number of special concerns including the role of the artist in contemporary society, the arts and social justice, and theatre pedagogy.

We are currently looking for scholars, practitioners, or current / recent graduates from any part of the UK or beyond, to join the Argument Room Steering Group to plan new events and initiatives. Previous round tables have involved David Edgar, Simon Callow, Anna Furse, Geraldine Pilgrim, Juliet Lyon, Chris Goode, David Gale, Sue Croft, Phelim McDermott, Tim Crouch, Claire McDonald, Nabil Shaban, Tim Etchells, Barby Asante, Duska Radosavljevic, Lois Keidan, Bea Campbell and Baroness Lola Young.

The Argument Room has been live streamed from the Royal Festival Hall, the October Gallery, QMUL and the I.C.A. It is managed by Saul Hewish and Chris Johnston (Rideout). Please get in touch if you’d like to chat with us off-list about being part of this initiative.
