Authentic Movement, compassionate witnessing of moving becoming conscious, is a process grounded in the relationship between a mover and a witness.
                                                                        Janet Adler,
These introductory days to the Discipline of Authentic Movement offer an opportunity to explore this embodied mystical practice and to become acquainted with Janet Adler’s current approach to the discipline of Authentic Movement. You may attend one or all three. The intention is to develop a closed group in the autumn, 2014.
The day is suitable for those with and without experience of the practice of Authentic Movement and for both dancers and non-dancers. It is suitable for those thinking of training to become teachers of the discipline of Authentic Movement. It may be of interest to those in the fields of psychotherapy, movement and other creative arts, spiritual and mystical studies.  This is not a psychotherapeutic group but, as a Jungian Analyst and Focusing Trainer, Jane has the skills to contain and ensure the group’s safety. Nor is the group designed to develop an improvisational movement practice although the work that emerges might usefully be developed in further creative processes.
Jane is Professor in Dance and Somatics at the University of Chichester,  a Jungian Analyst, Focusing Trainer and on the faculty of Janet Adler’s Circles of Four (a preparation programme for those interested in teaching the Discipline of Authentic Movement (
The cost is £80 for each workshop.
