Hours: Full Time

Committed to research and teaching excellence and passionate about the arts, design and media, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a vibrant community of scholars, researchers and practitioners with profile across the globe and a heritage of quality built up over 150 years.

The School of Media and Performing Arts is looking to recruit a highly motivated Senior Lecturer to work across both BA (Hons) Theatre and Professional Practice and BA (Hons) Applied Theatre (2017 intake) with specific specialism in any of the following areas: devised theatre, children’s theatre, youth theatre, drama education and other applied contexts. Ideally you will be able to teach across a broad range of practical modules on both programmes and will have practical, theoretical, and professional industry experience as well as knowledge and experience of teaching in HE. The Theatre and Professional Practice subject area is a highly practical programme to prepare students to enter the profession as Theatre practitioners in a variety of applied settings.

The University offers fully equipped studios and theatre spaces, television and radio studios and links to the Belgrade Theatre, the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Coventry University has a well-established and unique portfolio of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses and a significant number of research degree students. We also have strong local, regional, national and international links.

You will need to demonstrate a continuing engagement with pedagogic development – those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE and/or secure HEA fellowship; and must have a proven track record of delivering a first-class student experience within a higher education environment. You should have a developing research profile and may be required to take on course leadership duties.

We invite applications from lecturers who are dedicated, ambitious team players who share our enterprising approach. In return we offer a supportive and friendly working environment and considerable opportunity for innovation and development. Moreover, you will be part of a continuing success story.
