Siobhan Davies: creative process. A Conversation with Ramsay Burt.

Research Event, De Montfort University, 2nd April 2014, 17.00 – 18.30, Clephan 2.13

Siobhan Davies is one of Britain’s best known and most respected choreographers, a founder member of London Contemporary Dance Theatre in the late 1960s and then of Second Stride and Siobhan Davies Dance Company in the 1980s. Last summer, she invited Ramsay Burt to observe rehearsals for her most recent work Table of Contents made in collaboration with Andrea Buckley, Helka Kaski, Rachel Krische, Charlie Morrissey, and Matthias Sperling. This is a piece that is performed as a durational work in art gallery spaces rather than in a theatre-type venue. It received its premier at the ICA in London in January, was then presented in Glasgow at the Tramway and will be presented at the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol between 23rd and 27th April. This talk at De Montfort University is a unique opportunity to hear an in depth discussion about Siobhan Davies’s current creative processes.
