Debate Dance is a forum for students currently studying Dance in Higher Education in the UK to engage with topical and scholarly debate. We hope by being part of this group you will join us in talking about what it is to be a student studying Dance at this time. We will post current issues and questions on the group fortnightly to spark conversations but please also feel free to share thoughts, information, articles, youtube clips and any other materials you come across in this space.

We represent the student voice for Dance HE who are the representative body for higher education departments teaching and researching Dance. They aim to advocate and support Dance in Higher Education and are a crucial in making the art form visible, valuable and relevant in the UK today

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FROM EMERGING DANCERS AND CHOREOGRAPHERS

An association between Let’s Dance International Festival and regional dance agency, Dance4, Signatures is a platform that nurtures and supports undiscovered talent, enabling emerging artists to realise their creative potential. Signaturesshowcases the work of emerging dancers, choreographers and recent dance graduates. The artists are selected on the strength of their concepts and their desire to succeed in the arts industry.

Signatures is offering selected artists the chance to perform a new piece of work(between 10-15 minutes long) as part of an international dance festival in Leicester,with a performance fee of £300 and contributions towards travel expenses. Artists will also have the opportunity to network with other dance professionals, and have their work profiled at a national level.

In order to be considered for Signatures programme each dancer/choreographer will need to provide a CV that highlights experience and capacity to create innovative and diverse work for the general public, a web link or DVD of existing work, and a proposal detailing the name, length and technical requirements of the potential piece.
