This conference is open to anyone interested in dance. We look forward to welcoming you to Dublin!

The theme of this conference addresses the legacies of dance research and practice, in Ireland and internationally.

This 3 day event will feature 33 presentations, including workshops, seminars and performances from artists and academics from across the world. The programme will include sessions on:

Dance Legacies: Concept, Lineage and Embodiment

Interdisciplinary and Educational Perspectives

Archives, and Contemporary Re-Interpretations

This year we are delighted to welcome Dr Anya Peterson Royce as our Keynote Speaker, who’s own legacy and experience across multiple dance forms and cultural contexts, from Ballet to Anthropology, will bring a very interesting perspective to the conference.

The conference will also host an exhibition from the National Dance Archive of Ireland at Dance House. This will supported by a special session on Friday 4th July addressing the Irish Perspective, drawing attention to some forgotten legacies of dance in Ireland.
